Building codes for residential electricity are complicated but commercial codes are even more complicated. Commercial building codes are meant to provide safe electric supplies. These are all important to general public health and safety.

Some municipalities won’t even allow an owner builder for commercial construction. Your city or county may not even allow you to pull the permits for commercial installation. It’s not that they are against you; it’s just that they are rightly concerned about your employees and customers.

Save money by getting several bids from commercial electricians but please don’t try to cut corners and attempt your commercial electric installation by yourself.
