Residential Repair
If you’re like me then it seems like new residential electric installation should be easier than electric repair. After all, in new electric installation everything is easy to get to, there are no tight spaces, no messes, no rusted wires. Even though I’m not very handy, if I had a choice between attempting a residential electric repair or attempting a new electric installation, I would choose a new residential electric installation.
What about you? Are you contemplating whether to attempt a residential electric installation by yourself or to hire a professional electrician for your residential installation?
I’ve been friends with two professional electricians for over twenty years and interestingly enough both of them would choose a residential repair over a residential installation. Installations are kind of a specialty. Due to the massive amount of city, state and federal codes and since codes change, and since every step of a residential installation has to be inspected by typically hard to work with code enforcement officers, most residential shy away from residential installations. If most licensed professional electricians don’t want to do new residential installations then you and I should probably avoid them to. Hire a professional whose specialty is new residential installations. They’ll do a great job and you’ll be glad!
